A Beautiful Lie by TE Sivec review *Blog Tour

A Beautiful Lie

T.E. Sivec

**4 STARS**

I was given an arc to this book in exchange for a honest review.

I cannot say very much without giving this storyline away, but I’m going to do my best hereJ I was impressed with Tara’s ability to go from hilarious to serious. There was an original storyline with many questions to be answered.

"Every single day for eight years you were the only one I ever wanted to be completely honest with."

What do you do when you know it was meant to be, but your best friend sees her first? Milo loves Parker, but Garrett loves her more. What happens when Milo dies in the line of duty? Can best friends stay just friends?

"If you were mine, I would never be able to walk away from you. If you were mine, I’d worship every inch of your body with my hands, lips, and tongue. If you were mine, I wouldn't be able to stand in the same room as you without running my hands over your skin and tasting your lips."

Parker was about as kickass as a heroine can get. She has a big secret you learn pretty early on, that adds to her appeal. She is strong-minded, snarky, and no-nonsense. She loves with her whole heart. She has no family, and has learned to be independent and self-sufficient.

Garrett is my favorite type of hero- tall, dark, handsome, and very much into the girl! He is a bit of a ladies man, but we all know that’s just because he couldn’t have the only girl he wanted. He is a military man, and looks damn fine in a uniform;) Parker and Milo are his best friends, how far will he be willing to go for them?

They both knew everything about this moment would change them forever. They both understood there was no going back.

Garrett chooses to go to the Dominican Republic with his team, to find out what happened to Milo. Parker is a freelance photographer, and as luck would have it, Garrett is in need of a photographer for the mission. Will they be able to act as husband and wife long enough to take on the government?

There are so many questions during A Beautiful Lie, lots of little hints given along the way. It is in third person POV, which takes some time to get used to, but when done correctly, is my favorite way to read. I loved the story, but it didn’t pull me in 100%, When I read, I want to forget I’m reading words, and instead, be sucked into the story, I want to feel every word, for there to be no seams. I didn’t quite reach that point in this story. But that being said, the story was a great one, and I think Tara Sivec has the potential to do great, I see this as being her first story (in this genre) she did great. I look forward to hearing more from her!
